The project involves the construction of flood management works in three streams in the city of Loutraki -Katounistra, Prathi, and Kareli- to address past flooding issues. The works include channel excavation, local investments, outlet works, construction of sediment retention structures, as well as the necessary technical works of open and closed rectangular cross-sections at their most significant points and intersections with major roads.
Works on the Katounistra stream include channel management works from M.P. 0+000 to 5+492.1, technical works for road crossings of the stream, sediment retention structures, and outlet works with concrete bed and protection with boulders. In the Prathi stream, channel management works from M.P. 0+082 to M.P. 7+544.2, technical works for road crossings of the stream, sediment retention structures, and outlet works with concrete bed and protection with boulders are included. In the Kareli stream, channel management works from M.P. 0+000 to M.P. 0+700.8, technical works for road crossings of the stream, sediment retention structures, and outlet works with limited intervention with wire gabions to shape the junction of the Kareli stream with the Prathi stream are included. Additionally, channel management works, and their accompanying structures are constructed in the Katounistra stream over a length of 5,492.10 m, in the Prathi stream over a length of 7,462.20 m, and in the Kareli stream over a length of 700.80 m.
